You can get a variety of effects by over currenting PM motors due to the
armature field becoming permanently imprinted in the magnets. This can go
from very lumpy running to the voltage constant decreasing dramatically (ie
fewer volts per thousand rpm). They can be remagentised by some repair shops
or the original manufacturer.
