The diamond bit is just an 1/8" diameter tool that has a point on the end
of it that is made from diamond. I got it from MSC for $20.00. I have a
New Hermes pantograph that it was bought for originally- but then I
realized that it would work very well for me in the little CNC mill/drill.
So, I cut it down to fit my R8 collet (it started out about 4" long) and it
works great. Right now, there is one in the New Hermes engraver too, but
if I need it I'll rob it too.
Bill Griffin turned me onto a great place for buying engraving bits:
http://www.antaresinc.net/ I have bought various cutters from them over
the years and their prices are resonable.
