The material itself is, assuming you size it appropriately and fasten it
securely.
I picked up a bunch from a customer that was about to send it in for
recycling. Intended to
use the 4" square stuff to make a 4 sided tombstone type fixture for my
indexing head, and
mount fixtures using the T slots. Turns out the stuff isn't very flat
across the width.
I think it's straight enough along the length for your needs. But it's
crowned slightly
down the center, you'd want to consider how this might affect your
design.
