Yes there are boards that work with the laptop. Both PCMCIA and parallel port
interface.

FWIW I also like the Tek scopes. they are the standard by which all are judged.
That doesn't mean I wouldn't take a LeCroy if given to me.
I also like HP, but they are a little touchier.
If you do go for one for the PC you can get multiple channels, storage, Fast Fourier,
spectrum analysis pretty cheaply.
