Sawdust is famous for hiding a small fire for days even. I empty all the
sawdust from the machine and put it outside in a metal container. There is a
sawmill near me and right on the side of the river, and about every 4 years
they burn down. I have been here 18 years and its the 5th time the other
day. They tend to leave everything full of sawdust when they leave at night.
the sawmill i worked at we had to shovel all the sawdust up and put it on
the pile. they have had a sawmill for 50 years and only once a fire set by
an engine fuel leaked to hot manifold. run all your sawdust into metal cans
and move them away from the building, if they catch fire you still have a
building! cul brian f.
