Hi. I have been using the Hobby cnc board and 60 oz. motors for over
a year and they work great for my application. I have a cast iron
enco x/y table with a 3-1 belt reduction AND ball screws. Yes, the
rapids are slow, but with only 4x6" travel it's not a problem. The
only drawback is the board does not have current limiting. You have
to shut the motors down when they are not being used or they will
overheat(burn out). I have cut Aluminum, 4140 steel and non magnetic
stainless (303?) If you want, contact me offline and I will send you
some pics of the machine cutting out a stainless steel heart. Rick
