Thanks for the link. That's a lot closer to being below the pain
threshold. Something about anything that rounds to $1k that gets my
attention... ;)

Interesting point, I didn't think of that. I was just planning on
putting out a few pulses at the max rate for every pulse that is put
in. It might be ok if it was moving at max speed. Perhaps in my
case because of the extremely small distance per pulse I could get
away with shoving out 4 pulses (this would only move the table a
tenth) quickly. I'll have to mess with the frequency response of the
servo loop to see what that would do to it, but the specs claim its
good up to 250khz.

I suppose that on the first pulse I could start putting them out at a
moderate rate and then adjust the timing on a pulse by pulse basis.
Or perhaps start slower and then play catch up. I planned on using a
microprocessor so this would just be an algorithmic problem. I think
a real hardware PLL could be pretty tricky.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to test out vector as soon as they
send me an authorization.
