I bought a Gecko driver off of LloydLeung in this group and it only
turns the stepper one direction. Strange huh??
Ive tried hooking it up in place of the other 2 geckos that I have,
connecting it to different motors, but I still cant get it to turn
any of them more than one direction, CCW.
I initially thought it was the motor, but It wasnt.
I then thought it might be the parallel port pinout from my breakout
board, after switching all of the pins around to other drivers(both
hardware wise and software) I discovered that it wasnt.
Then I thought, well maybe I had wired it up wrong some how, so I
took apart and reassembled everything about 10 times and still got
the same results no matter what pin the step/dir' were running off
of.
I now am pretty sure it is defective. And when I asked Lloyd for
help figuring this thing out, all he could say was either it should
work or it doesnt. And I should ask someone else for troubleshooting.
He then suggested me to query the list and see what I can come up
with. Or contact Mariss and ask him.
Anybody ever hear of this happening with a Gecko G201?
It would be great if someone could maybe suggest something for me to
check, and possibly make this thing work the way it was designed to.
If not, then I guess I got the old Ebay screw job, and am stuck with
a driver that only goes one way, because Lloyd has no intention of
replacing it or the money I paid for it.
Anybody ever hear of this happening with a Gecko G201?
Any ideas??
Thanks in advance
Joe
