RE: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Help a confused newbie out please

All that I've seen stop immediately when a limit switch is hit. The
ideal is to place the switch so it won't be what tries to stop the axis
that trips it. So if you have a roller micro switch, you have the table
roll over the roller, so the frame of the machine will stop the table if
need be.
