It really depends on what "industry" you are talking about. Rhino is now being used in many industries, and becoming an "industry standard" in at least the jewelry industry. If you are going to be making small ornamental objects, then in my opinion Rhino would be a much better choice over Autocad. If, on the other hand, you want to make small machine parts, then a parametric modeler like Inovate or Alibre or the excellent, free ProDESKTOP Express might be a better bet. At least you can try them out for free and see which one "feels" right.
