RE: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Which CAD/CAM Package?

I'd suggest that you rethink your decision. If you're doing small jobs for
yourself, you really have no need for AutoCAD compatibility, other than
having the ability to import and export DXF format files.

I have Vector CAD/CAM and am satisfied with it. Fred's product support is
outstanding. Others would say the same about their purchases, as well. So, I
believe that you'll really have to take the time to download the demos. I
find that Vector's ability to generate G-Code directly from the drawing
makes it more valuable to me than the combination of a CAD only program and
a G-Code interpreter.

If, after evaluating these programs, you still want an AutoCAD like program,
I'd suggest taking a good look at Intellicad. The price is right - FREE -
and it's able to understand more dialects of DXF files than any AutoCAD
version. In addition, the look and feel pretty well matches one of the later
releases of AutoCAD (I believe ACAD-2000)
