Andrew, read http://users.aol.com/axcel216/msdos.htm for an the best
tutorial on Win9x boot customizing that I've ever seen.

When I was running Win98SE on my "CNC PC", I just put "BootGUI=0" in
MSDOS.SYS and it booted to the command line. When I wanted to load Windows
(to transfer files through the USB port) I just typed "win" at the command
line--just like in the old days! (Needed to reboot to get back to the
command line, though...)
