Hi Andrew,
You could try this and see if it gives the desired result.

Go to Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools and come down the
resultant menu and select System Information. Click on Tools in the
menu and select System Configuration Utility. Click the General tab
and select Advanced. Tick the box marked Enable Starup Menu, click OK
twice and restart computer.
