ESTOP vs E's GONE sensor...

I've been thinking about the previous postings
regarding hitting a convenient ESTOP button, when
you'd rather be running for the door!
How about this idea: A sensor (maybe one of those
60" sensing ultrasonic Polaroid-type emitter-sensors)
hooked up to the ENABLE.
Maybe even simpler is one of those 'entranceway mats'
with pressure switches in them. When you're standing
on it, you're ENABLED.
Then if something bad happens and you duck out of the
way, or bolt for the door, the sensor detects your
absence and shuts things down.
The big thing is that you don't have to remember to do
anything, just run (which is your natural tendency anyway).
That might save 1 or 2 valuable seconds.
