GCode Optimizer?

Does anyone know of a simple gcode cut optimizer that will optimize
the toolpath cuts and reduce the number of long rapids and random
cuts? I can do it in a CAM package but it requires you select each
path and "re order them" I have files with hundreds of paths and
they cut in the order they were created in the CAD package...real
poor movement control!

It would be nice to be able to create the gcode then run it through
a "filter" that optimizes the code for the shorts moves (cut things
closest to each other first).
