That's a little unfair. Our e-mail reply to you dated March 20 said:

The only thing we can offer you is to send it back. We will look at
it under a microscope, as well as put it through its paces on our
teststand. This way we will be able to tell you what happened and
why. If it is our fault we will replace the drive.

I'm responding here because our reputation for fairness and support
is being called into question.
We have never charged for drive repair or return shipping costs. We
bend over backwards and replace drives if there is any doubt about
the cause of failure. Others here know about our "one time, stuff
happens" deal when the failure is clearly not our fault. Anyone that
has called for technical support knows I take whatever time is
necessary to offer it.
The drive was purchased in December of 2001. What would you have had
us do rather than what we offered you?
