I have no wish to start a knocking war here, your products are great,

warranty drives. Sorry" - following that response, the thought of
sending it back across the Atlantic at significant cost and time lost
seemed not worth the risk that I would get the same response again!
Surely the question that should be asked is what was the failure
mechanism and how can it be prevented in future.

Subject: Demise of Gecko 210
Maris,
Back in December 2001 I bought 4 G210's from you, and three of them
have been happily driving my mill for a while now. Yesterday I got
round to fixing the fourth axis, so installed the 4th Gecko. To my
surprise it blows fuses (5amp).
I have very carefully checked the wiring / motor / psu (68v) and
nothing seems wrong. So I VERY cautiously installed one of the other
210's in it's place, and it works fine. The 4th 210 has been sitting
in its packing for about a year and literally has never turned a
motor.
I realise that this is well out of any warranty (shipped 12/20/2001
under my company name XXXXXXXX but in view of the fact it seems to be
a true 'infant mortality' can you see any way to treat me generously ?
I have an order currently with you for two more 210's (your ref
1523) - any chance that you could add a replacement to that
consignment ?
Regards,
Andrew Mawson
Dear Mr. Mawson,
Your drives shipped 18 March and should arrive w/in the next few
days. The www.usps.com tracking # is:
EC100260737US.
Afraid we can do nothing about out of warranty drives. Sorry.
Regards,
Jan
