Alex,
Neat. Try a google search using {planatary screw drive} or {roller
screws}. They look real interesting and are margainly buildable.
Seems like you just have an interesting set of problems. The
planetary rollers need accurate support to insure no backlash and it
looks like everything in the commercial ones are ground.
