computer frame ground is not always connected to the 0V rail of the pc, and
can wobble around quite a bit. giving BIG problems when used as a reference.
signal ground on the parallel port should be taken from the signal ground
pins on the port.

I have the common grounded to the frame of the computer. I have two
stepper drives onthe machine that are running off the computer. But I
will check the grounding
