Anshu,
Back in 94 we bought a VF-4 with a particular job in mind. All
maching parameters were carefully calculated (Z-axis thrust and
such).
We blew servo drives, power supplies,we went thru 3 updates on all
of the electronics in the back.
The service man finally gave up and tried to blame it on poor
application.
Long story short, HAAS's VP of service told me they really had no
idea of the machines capabilties. They had pulled their figures from
a competitors brochure.
I got a free t-shirt,(and got to keep my job).
On the plus side, they are fine machines. We would not hesitate to
buy another.
However,if you are planning heavy machining,a real world-rigorous
demo is in order.
I will add, I would stay away from the smaller OKUMA machines
(CROWN,CADET).
If you notice, they really push their 24 hr.parts and service.
YOU WILL NEED IT.
My 2 cents.
