Let the games begin,
It's two disks and you will need both. Burn the ISO images to CD's. The
first disk is almost 680 Mb and the second is 642 ish so you may not
have gotton it all. Use a real FTP client (cute ftp, Leach ftp, ect.)
instead of trying IE to get it its bad at getting big files. Redhat
Linux 7.2 is on the first with some apps and the rest of the apps and
all of EMC's parts are on the 2nd. Boot the first disk on the target
machine or (you may have to go into the BIOS, press <DEL> key during the
boot screen and turn on CD booting, look for: BOOT > A,C and change to
CD,A,C or A,CD,C) if its an older PC that wont boot from CD make a boot
floppy from the images in /images on disk 1 with Rawrite which is also
on disk one. You can do this from a Winbox with Rawritewin which is also
on the disk 1 in /utils.
It will install a full Linux distribution with a RTAI patched kernal and
will remove the windoz virus from the hard drive. When you are clicking
through the install choices in Anaconda (the install program) take the
defalt ones first time through and click on work station in the type of
install screen. If your disk is small you can use the custom install
option and uncheck all the poo you dont need, except EMC of course.
If you have problems dont dispair installing Linux esp. a older version
like 7.2 is not as brain dead as installing windows.
