1. What kind of processor is in this PC? You can tell by the messages that
appear fist on the screen when you turn it on and it starts to boot up. Also,
how much RAM?

2. If it's a Pentium or better (or the AMD equivalent), the next step is to go
into the BIOS setup (usually accessed by pressing DEL or F2 when prompted
during the first few moments after the machine starts to boot up). You need
to determine if the PC is capable of booting from the CDROM drive. If so,
your task is much easier. Set up the boot sequence so that the CDROM is the
first boot device, save your changes, then reset the PC with the BDI CD in
the drive.

3. If you can't boot from CDROM, let us know and we'll go to the next step,
although it would be better to find a newer PC.
