Hi Pete,
this is kinda-sorta near the edges of the topic as per Tim, but I
think discussing the metals our stuff is made of is pretty close to
topic.
that said, and to be on topic, there are some files in the files
section of the site, one being beam_deflection.xls, a spreadsheet
that will offer some insite as to how much a beam might bend under
pressures.
Second there is a link, Shopswarf,
http://shopswarf.orcon.net.nz/sindex.html
that has some little data on aluminum. and that leads to the question
of what type of machine are you actually building?
