Duh . . . When one doesn't BUY anything in a good while, owners of firms,
products, etc., CHANGE!

In my pitiful attempts to answer a question or two for members, today, I gave
some only-quasi-correct information, and have learned something:

Ball Screws and Actuators (aka "BSA") from which I bought both ball- and ACME
lead-screws for contraptions I have built over the last 20 years was BOUGHT
by a (what would you call it, "holding company"?) "mother-firm" by name of
Danaher.

Next, Danaher bought Thomson! Who woulda ever thunk it! So, my mention of
Thomson as one supplier of lead-screws was quasi-correct! Danaher owns BOTH
firms, so an inquiry MIGHT have been appropriately forwarded! (Never COUNT on
it!)

HERE is a link for the whole shootin' match. There are some INTERESTING
variations on ACME-screw nuts here! Take a look! I am reminded that I used
[BSA!!!] PTFE-coated ACME high-lead, multiple-start with "XC" preloaded nuts on a
plotter I shipped to Ohio last year. FINE stuff!
