Re: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Is there a way to drill holes with a router?

Raul,

I do this frequently in aluminum. My current machine is using a laminate
trimmer (30K RPM), but the next will use the PC 5-speed router.

I use a small carbide 2-flute end-mill cutter, typically between 1/16" and
1/8". I use a slow z-axis feed to penetrate the material, and them mill
out the hole to the desired size.

I used this a lot recently to drill tap-holes for 10-24 screws for NEMA23
motor mounts. I needed to have the holes be accurately located with
respect to the shaft hole and the motor collar. It was far easier to use
the same cutter and setup, rather than doing the work on two machines.
