for drilling 1/4" holes, considder using the 1/4 endmill.

for freeds, start with about 0.0015" depth of cut per flute.

for acrylic, think slow. at high router speeds, plastics melt.

if you have any chatter when drilling alum, give the drill a shot of
WD-40. makes a world of difference when milling alum.

also, endmills drilling plastics prevent splitting the parts when the
bit penetrates.
