We don't know! It works this way for us! The only thing I can think of
is that
setting the offset when the screen display is showing machine (absolute)
coordinates may not do it right. I always have it showing relative
coordinates, which is the current work coord system. there are buttons
on the middle right edge of the screen to select the coordinate display.

Second, there are a bunch of things that RESET the G92 offsets, especially
an M02 at the end of the program. this can definitely cause a crash!
