Sorry, can't help with the arm. I gave up and bought a microscribe.
The challenge isn't the arm as much as getting the point cloud data
into a usable model. You might want to investigate that before you
build a digitizer. Take a look at points2poly and do some searches
on point cloud in this newsgroup.
