Thanks for the information, on a 15" lathe, I might be nervous to
use a 3/4 ball screw but on smaller lathes it would probably be fine.
I think your 0.02" deptth of cut was very light. I had -rarely- done
manual cuts of 1/4 inch on a side when I was making punches and dies.
My 9" lathe would be fine with a 1/2 ball screw as the 1/2 hp motor
is too light to flex the screw. I just don't take deep cuts with it.
