I just looked at some of the routers

And from viewing the pix, I think they're using the MaxNC 70 oz/in
"motion control kit" to run them. This is a 4-phase drive system, not
step/dir. But workable, if not fast. Might be a good place to start
experimenting.

If it is indeed the MaxNC package, there won't be much to the manual.
Hopefully the drawings will be adequate. Could be fun to play around
with. My motion control kit next goes on a PCB router, when I get
around to it.

Sure enough! A further look shows a MaxCNC screen.
