Well, you don't HAVE to dedicate a system to Linux, you can set up a
dual-boot arrangement fairly easily. (Yes, I wish it was easier, too.
But, it is well worth it to tinker a bit until it works. I have the BDI
Linux
and Windows 95 on my test machine.)

OK, smooth pulse trains at what rate? I run to 45,000 steps/sec on my
minimill,
to get full speed out of the Gecko 201A's.
