There are a lot of options and no one is the "only right choice". I have
only played with a couple of different drivers and programs. Your computer,
electronic, and machining skills all effect what might seem easy to you. I have
been working on several different units and so far would say Mach1/2 and a
Xylotex has required the least knowledge. The performance of the xylotex is
somewhat limited but it is easy to use very clean, good instructions, and cost
effective. Mach 1/2 runs on windows which is nice for people who are less computer
literate. Mach1/2 is also the easiest setup, run for me. I will be building
some more expensive and complex machines that may require other software and
drivers but I was very satisfied with the above listed products which made a
usable machine in little time. Good Luck
