Paul: He probably has the 650x which only has step and direction outputs. No
inputs. I have the same problem with some PDX series drives. My PDX drives
have a 650X board pugged into the main board. And a 4 pin jumper type
connector with nothing on it. I think that it may be possible to pull the
650X board and basically retro back to a 650 drive with step direction
inputs. Anyone know how to do this? Is Bill Griffin still frequent this
list. I think that he might know how to do this. These drives are really
attractive because they have their own internal power supplies. I got caught
up in the no input problem because I found these drives on ebay with just
several minutes to close and popped into the compumotor site. I saw step
direction and bailed out and bid on the drives. On closer study of the
manual,I got this sinking feeling that I had messed up again. Step direction
outputs. I would be extremely grateful if someone could tell us how to
convert these drives. I was able to find the software to communicate with
the drives but it looks like something that you would use to drive a machine
with repeat functions. Like a pick and place robot. The 650x is a processor
and when set up runs on its own without need of an external computer. Carey
