Here's how to blow a 320....don't check the brand new stepper motor brush
wires for shorts to ground :-)
The motor ran fine on the bench, then "let out the smoke" of the Gecko in
short order when installed on the machine.
Result: (1) of the PMOS transistors was blown, cost a whole $0.95 from
Allied Electronics. Installed it in 2 minutes and within 5 minutes running
fine - AFTER fixing the short circuited brush wire. Sometimes things just
work out fine....
Regarding shutdown method...I installed (2) DC circuit breakers on my power
supply, accessible from the front - they power the 2 big DC supplies for the
motors...use them to remove the power after hitting the emergency stop
switch to pull the ERR/RESET line on the gecko low.
