Couple of points here.
Last time I looked at Centroid, their 3 axis mill control was about or
around $16,000 as I remember it.....been a few years. I understand
what your saying about the hobby controllers.
However, Centroid controls are no way at the "rock bottom".
It is tough to compare apples to apples due to certain factors.
Fagor controls are less cost(what I've been using for several years)
but not near as user friendly, and less easy to integrate. Plus, last
I knew Centroid would not sell -just- the control, you had to but a
turn key plug & play package. (prevents sparky from toasting
drives, etc., and then crying for warranty) I -do- understand their
position to a degree.
Now along comes Ajax.
Virtually they ARE Centroid controls, just different name. SAME
software & hardware (they explain it by saying they "bought a licence
for the technology"....whatever). Friendly, conversational, digital
drives, etc. But.....no warranty....even for people that know the
terrain?....Shucks.
