Jon:
I've never seen 0.100" pitch ball screws for sale. Can you use
2.5 mm lead ball screws? These are much more plentiful and probably
very much cheaper. You can have any type of custom ball screw made,
but that's probably no help to you.
I've been looking through catalogs and collecting quotes from
salesmen for the last month or so and I've never run across these.
As far as costs go, for the Class 3 and Class 7 screws, I've found
Steinmeyer to be cheaper in quantities of 5 or more and NSK to be
cheaper if you just want one. I like Steinmeyer's screws and may
go with them since they gave me prices in quantity. THK was the
most expensive of the brands that I've gotten prices for.
For your quest, I would just stick with the American companies
since the American market is the only one that is using inch units
and not metric. -Jim
