I have both the Dyna 2400 and a Servo Impact machine. I have retrofitted
the dyna with my electro craft E540 servo motors and my servo system
that uses the G320's. I used a 2.5X1 timing belt pulley drive to
eliminate the nylon gears that were original. The machine has leadscrews
with about .001 slop. It will run at 83 IPM which is blazing fast for
that small of a machine.
I also picked up a servo impact with ballscrews but it need work. For
some reason the Y axis is stiff so I will have to go through it and see
what is causing the problem. It may be just the gibbs are too tight. I
also plan to install one of my servo system on that when I can get the
time.

eal smooth & quiet. Having the serarate quill feed is a real boone for
tool setting. Does anyone have additional upgrades to these machines to
share? Are direct table drives (eliminate the plastic 10/1 gearing)
worthwhile? What minimum motor sizes are recommended? Has anyone located
a source for the toolholders? RichD
