Paul is right, the tncremo is easy to use. The Heidenhain language is
easy too,
dont expect Gcode, just answer the dialogs. Tncremo can make the PC look
like a hard drive connected to the TNC150, so you can up & download programs.
The programs will be ascii text if you download them to the PC. Then you
know the
format of the program statements and can use any text editor to fiddle the
values.
If you have big programs to run ( more than simple pockets ) then you may need
some stronger programming tools on the PC end. The heidenhain control is very
popular becauae it doesnt use Gcode and because it does use this 'dialog'
(question and answer) technique. So post for big cad systems are available due
to this popularity. One of the neatest things about heidenhains is the
ability to
write your own dialogs. Some dialogs are provided, like bolt circles and center
finds, but you can write your own for task done often and unique to you.
The people at Heidenahin USA are very helpful too.
