Yes, and that's a fair definition of what "servo" means. BUT...

It's the LOCATION OF that "master" that can make a BIG difference.

Jon E's servo system is a "real" type, with the master "standing next
to" the "navigator". The Geckos "master" is down in the "engine
room", and only calls the navigator if he's off by 128 counts or
more...
