I hate Linux. Every time I have messed with it, I got beat up. But if EMC has cutter diameter offsets, then maybe it's time for another bout.

The main reason for G41 and G42 is you only have to change a couple of
numbers in the tool table if you put in a reground tool otherwise you
have to change your whole program. Carbide endmills are too expensive to
whizz when they get dull. Another advantage is you can lie to the
control about the diameter of your cutter as a way of conpensating for a
"springy" part or machine. I tried a couple of others and switched to
EMC because of G41-42. Mach 2 is supposed to be good also. Ed.
