Exactly what it was. Thanks everyone for the replies.

Unfortunately, at the same time I got the bad download, my computer decided not to go online anymore. After almost 2 days of fighting it, it looks like the external DSL modem may have died. Every time I try to sign on, it reboots the computer. I finally figured out it didn't reboot if the modem wasn't plugged in to the Ethernet port.
So I am taking a breather and answering posts via dialup. My DSL was so reliable for the last 2 years, I didn't even have the dialup modem plugged in. It was a chore reconfiguring it to work.
