I tend to keep things far away from the 220 main line, primarily
because it comes in up at the head, and everything else is down low.
As far as encoder and servo wires I've zipped them together more than
once, but I make sure the shielded cable is securely grounded at the
control box. Limit switches are the same way.
If you would like to laugh though, one of the biggest problems I had
was with a pump. It was a Mag-Drive type pump, and when shutting it
down it would trip the limits. After thinking for a while I came to
the conclusion that because my limits are "hi active" opticals
instead of just a normal closed loop configuration the pump was
putting out an electro magnetic pulse when it was being shut off.
This put a pulse on the wires and tripped the limits. That was a
head scratcher, the fact that the pump and wires were 2 feet from
everything just added to the fun.
Thanks
