I don't believe the sim version loads any real time modules. The
easiest way
to find out is to run the sim version, and then, in a separate xterm
window,
type lsmod, and see if there are some modules related to EMC showing up
there. I don't think there will be. But, that doesn't mean that your
system
ISN'T ready to run real hardware. The stepper version doesn't need any
more hardware than the appropriate parallel ports to function.
