I'm no expert, but 190 oz-in is not even 1 ft-lb, and remember that max
torque on a stepper is at rest, so at any speed, I could see how you could
stop it easily by hand.

Subject: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] No Torque (power?)
Hi all,
I finally had the chance to get back into my mill project, and
actually made some progress, but still have a major problem.
After buying new motors (PH2610-E2.9B), blowing up one Gecko (G210)
and replacing it due to a stupid mistake, and discovering the new EMC
BDI (rc44) [nicely done by the by] has made some really nice progress,
I got everything running. (these motors -
http://www.electrotec.us/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabId=62&ProdId=417&Action=Show
Details)
I've tuned the ini file and the motors hum right along
nicely, but hooked up to the belts, they won't budge a bit.
Hum and chatter, but no movement.
By themselves, everything runs great, but if I grab the pulley on the motor
shaft, I can stop it with seemingly light pressure between thumb and
forefinger.
(running 40 tooth pulleys on the motors, 20 on the leadscrews)
If I had to desribe it, I would say that the seem to not have any torque...
I'm running 65VDC to the Geckos, with a 66K resistor for 4.1 Amps,
have the capacitors on the Geckos, and motors wired in parallel.
Any ideas on why I just can't get any real power (torque?) from this thing?
Thanks,
Weyland
