Vance, after looking at the catalog pages more closely,
what you says seems right. The bearing unit is closed
so they would be only good for light loads.

I'm a bit mystified by this. The only rack and rail and car combo I see
is
on page E34 Called "Linear Gear Drive Bearings", and LDG Racks. It looks
as if the gear/bearing box completely surrounds the rail. If so it seems
to
me that the rail can only be supported at the ends. Have they got
something
new that I missed? Berg is not cheap but they have some things it's hard
to
find elswhere and their service is good.

Anyhow all this is a long way from the original point which was to build
something *affordable*, with shall we say reasonable accuracy."-) VB
