Doesn't generate a lot of heat in the DRIVE, but the amount of heat
generated in the MOTOR will be the same-it will be proportional to the
amoiunt of power needed to keep the motor in place.

JD, most DC brush drives change the width of the output pulses to
adjust the average voltage seen by the motor instead of the
amplitude. This way the output stage of the drive is full on or off
and does not generate a lot of heat.
