Thanks - Servo Motor Make Up -w- Follow Up Question

All who replied. Thanks very much. I'm just trying to patch up holes
in my knowledge. That was very helpful.

BTW - I've got my motors, older Reliance Micro 100 series, brushed. E-
Bay buy. HP or HP like 500 CPM quadrature optical encoders.

Follow up question:

So assuming the servo system is set up and working correctly. If I
were to tell software to keep the motor at some position 'A' and I
placed a constant load on the motor to try to move from 'A' the
result would be a series of pulses coming from the drive to the motor
of sufficient amplitude to keep the motor at position 'A'. Yes? I
imagine it would bounce within the limits of the encoder too?

Then the motor is eventually going to get pretty hot if the load is
great enough?

Thanks,
-jd
