Agree about the USB prospects. The Centroid/Ajax M-400 controller used a
flash card for the hard drive now, so setting up another might not be that
difficult.

Just got off the phone with the Centroid factory rep. He tells me Centroid
is considering changing over completely to Linux. That will open up the
door to all sorts of add on hardware - CD, larger hard drive, possibly
putting the complete operations manual either on CD or the hard drive, more
graphics etc. Personally, I am happy with the graphics available on the
DOS system.

Might be worth a look. The M-400 uses the flash card for hard drive C:,
but there is space for a real hard drive too. Wiring, plug ins and metal
frame are already there, so using another hard drive with the flash card
should be an easy and relatively inexpensive addition if the need arrises.
