Hi Les

Thanks for your reply. I think you have been using EMC with default
startup code as G20. if you set the default startup code in the ini to
G21 then you'll be able to feel my pain very quickly.

You'll find the follwing bugs:

1. EMC does not jogs in mm. although you are running your machine in
mm by default.

2. EMC messes up with loading of work offsets. It multiplies each

workoffset with 25.4 and loads it. this way you never can use emc in
mm mode as default.

There are many other bugs like:

1. EMC sometimes picks some very slow feed value for G0 rapid move.

2. The homing polarity reverses for z and x axis. to fix this i run
emc first time with EMCMOT = stg2mod.o. i exit and run second time
with EMCMOT = newstgmod.o

3. you can not set and use workoffsets manually when you are using the
EMC in mm by default. to use workoffsets what i do is as follows:

I have defined in the run file a copy command that copies the var file

which has all the workoffsets set to zero. and i use G10 command in
each program to set the workoffsets

I've been writing about the bugs i find in EMC but each time i
download emc i found these things unchanged, and never addressed.

By the way please tell me what is EMC-II? Does it has fix to the bugs
found in EMC-I ??

best regards

@sim
