My manual (page 7-21) says: On machines with the brake option, the
spindle brake is controlled by relay CR5. The spindle also is
'interlocked' through CR5. This relay must be energized for the spindle
to turn. The coil voltage should measure about 24 Vdc (CR5-2 to CR5-10).
If CR5 -2 is 0 Volts, then, CR5 is open, and the spindle won't turn. A
faulty E-stop switch to contacts CR5-6 & CR5-7 could also cause
problems. Diode D38 may cause this problem. HTH
